OCCUPATIONAL AND FEEDING THERAPIST
Hi, I’m Lindsay.
I love incorporating a clients personal interests and movement into therapy.
Specialties:
I am a pediatric occupational therapist (OT) who has been supporting children and families in the Boulder area for the past decade through school-based and home health/private practice settings.
Following an undergraduate degree from Whitman college, I moved to Crested Butte, CO and spent 3 years at the Adaptive Sports Center, an organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through sport and outdoor adventure. Witnessing firsthand the profound impact that the right support could have on a person’s confidence, health, independence, and quality of life led me to pursue a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at Creighton University.
I have worked with children from birth through 21 within Boulder Valley School District (BVSD), including specialized programs for students with Autism, multiple disabilities, and affective needs, as well as on the Child Find team. I have specialized training in feeding therapy (SOS approach), early intervention, and am currently working towards becoming a Certified Lactation Counselor. I co-developed a continuing education course on creating sensory-friendly classrooms and school climates, created in collaboration with a fellow OT and an Autistic self-advocate/BVSD parent. I continue to work part time in BVSD.
At the heart of my practice is a deep belief that the most effective therapy happens when caregivers are genuinely involved and a child’s specific strengths are centered. I takes a neuro-affirming, individualized approach to meet each child and family's needs. Working with kids in their home environment is something I find especially meaningful.
When not at work, I love spending time outdoors with my husband, young daughter, and pup.
